Liverpool reach agreement to sign Gakpo from PSV
Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.
The Dutch outfit released a statement confirming the move, which is subject to international clearance.
It read: "PSV and LFC [Liverpool] have reached an agreement on the proposed transfer of Cody Gakpo.
"The 23-year-old attacker will leave for England imminently where he will be subjected to the necessary formalities ahead of the completion of the transfer.
"Both clubs are not making any announcements about the transfer fee. 'But this is a record transfer for PSV,' said general manager Marcel Brands."
Gakpo had an outstanding World Cup campaign in Qatar, where he scored three goals in five appearances for the Netherlands before they went out to eventual winners Argentina in the quarter-finals.
This season has seen Liverpool lose key forwards Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota to long-term injuries.
Gakpo will reinforce Jurgen Klopp's attacking options, potentially joining an attack of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
Should the deal be completed, Gakpo could be on course to make his Liverpool debut when they visit Brentford on January 2.
