Heung-Min Son praised the quality of Tottenham's display at Arsenal after the South Korean's brace secured a 2-2 draw.

Spurs fell behind at the Emirates Stadium to Cristian Romero's own goal after the Argentine defender deflected Bukayo Saka's strike past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Son levelled the scores three minutes before half-time but Saka's penalty put the Gunners back in front after the interval.

After again pegging back Tottenham's North London rivals, Son was pleased with a point.

He told Sky Sports: "It's a derby, it's always a tough game but the performance was fantastic from the lads until the last whistle.

"I think we gave everything so I think the fans can be proud of the game.

"Obviously we wanted to win but I think the performance was perfect."

Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham are unbeaten after six Premier League games this season

Arsenal's second goal came after a VAR check adjudged Romero to have handled in the area.

Son chose not to reflect on that decision and instead highlighted the response of Ange Postecoglou's visitors.

He added: "Look, the referee made a decision.

"We can't just argue about this decision. We have VAR in this situation.

"Obviously the derby is an emotional game.

"It's a decision we accepted and we bounced back really strongly. Coming back at the time was important. We showed great character."

Spurs are now unbeaten after six matches of the Premier League season, trailing leaders Manchester City by four points.

They lie ahead of Arsenal on goal difference and now face the challenge of hosting fellow in-form side Liverpool on Saturday.
