Finley Barbrook’s first-half strike gave Sutton a 1-0 win over Maidenhead in their National League match at the VBS Community Stadium.

Sutton had gone close during the early exchanges, with Will Davies stabbing wide, before taking the lead on the half-hour.

Davies took a pass from Jeremy Sivi in the Maidenhead penalty area and laid it off for Barbrook, who drilled a low shot in the bottom corner.

With 15 minutes left Maidenhead goalkeeper Craig Ross made a fine reaction save from Josh Coley’s first-time effort at point-blank range.
