Premier League fans were served a feast in Gameweek 26 with goals, comebacks and thrashings all on the menu.

Liverpool annihilated their age-old rivals Manchester United with a 7-0 win at Anfield, while Arsenal staged a late comeback to beat Bournemouth 3-2.

Elsewhere Tottenham went down 2-0 at Wolves and Brighton breezed past West Ham to strengthen their bid for a place in Europe next season.

We take a look at some of the best and worst performers from a dramatic weekend of action.

Gameweek 26 top performers

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Sunday's humbling of United will live long in the memory of Liverpool fans not just because they got one over on their rivals, but also because Mohamed Salah became their leading goalscorer in the Premier League.

The Egyptian winger bagged a brace to overtake Robbie Fowler and record his 129th goal in the top flight in just 205 appearances for the Reds.

His contributions earned him a whopping 21 fantasy points — making him the week's highest scorer by a landslide as the Merseysiders finally look back to their brilliant best.

Mohamed Salah scored twice in the win over Manchester United

Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton)

There were jubilant scenes at the Amex Stadium on Saturday as Brighton dispatched West Ham in style.

Kaoru Mitoma got on the scoresheet and grabbed an assist in the 4-0 win, earning him a 13-point haul — his best return of the season.

The Seagulls head to Leeds in GW27 and the Japanese winger will be keen to add to his total of six goals in the Premier League in 2022-23.

Jose Sa (Wolves)

Wolves kept a clean sheet against Tottenham on Saturday and Jose Sa had to be on fine form to stop the North London club from breaching his goal.

The visitors had 22 efforts across 90 minutes — their highest total this season — but the Portuguese stopper stood firm and received 11 fantasy points as a result.

Julen Lopetegui's men face Newcastle at St James' Park next weekend but might fancy themselves against a side who are dropping off after an excellent first half of the season.

Gameweek 26 worst performers

Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

Luke Shaw failed to make an impact against Liverpool

Conceding seven goals in a match is inexcusable at the top level and Luke Shaw will be scratching his head as to how his side were beaten so easily.

The England left-back finished the weekend on minus one point and will want to sweep the result under the carpet and help Erik ten Hag's men get back on track.

And the Carabao Cup winners can do so with a victory over struggling Southampton, who will be worried about the potential response from the Manchester club despite picking up a win over Leicester at the weekend.

William Saliba (Arsenal)

Arsenal rescued themselves from embarrassment at the hands of Bournemouth in North London on Saturday but William Saliba will not be happy with his side's defensive performance at the Emirates.

The league leaders found themselves 2-0 down which means the Frenchman only added one point to his fantasy tally, taking him to 110 for the season.

Defenders cherish a clean sheet and the Gunners will be confident of restoring their dominance at the back when they visit Fulham next weekend.

Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Harry Kane could not find the net against Wolves

Although Wolves put in a resilient display at Molineux, Tottenham's performance was not good enough for a side who expect to finish in the top four after 38 games.

Harry Kane failed to help his team capitalise on Newcastle's loss earlier in the day and could only muster two fantasy points in the Midlands.

Nottingham Forest visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next and anything but a win for the hosts will have further negative repercussions for a club still hurting from their FA Cup exit at Sheffield United last week.
