Anthony Joshua has written off Deontay Wilder’s chances of ever beating him.

The WBO, WBA Super and IBF world heavyweight champion has often indulged in verbal sparring sessions with Wilder.

And AJ now insists the former WBC title-holder is not at the same level as him.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: "He isn't an elite-level fighter, in my opinion.

"He's good. It's the heavyweights, so they always know one punch can change the course of a fight.

"But I've never, ever seen in the heavyweight division a fighter going to war with just one weapon, which is what they say is his right hand.

"When you get to the top level? Trust me, that don't last anymore. That don't work."

Wilder, 35, believes he will get back on track for an undisputed showdown with Joshua by reclaiming the WBC gold from Tyson Fury on July 24.

Deontay Wilder came up short against Tyson Fury in their second fight in February 2020

But Joshua claims the American was badly exposed in his last showdown with the Gypsy King when he was stopped in the seventh round.

The Brit added: "As we've seen now with certain fights of elite-level fighters, he struggles at the top level.

"And there's a lot more of us waiting for that opportunity as well to kick his a***."

While Fury and Wilder are set to complete their trilogy at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas next month, Joshua is expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in mid-September.

And once his mandatory challenger is out of the way, the 31-year-old is confident his megafight with Fury can be resurrected later this year.
