York climb to second and knock Barnet off the top with come-from-behind success

Barnet were knocked off the top of the Vanarama National League by York, who came from behind and climbed up to second with a 3-1 home win.

The visitors took the lead through Bailey Hobson’s 37th-minute finish before Marvin Armstrong equalised in first-half stoppage time.

The Minstermen then completed the turnaround with two goals in quick succession after the break, Alex Hunt’s free-kick putting them ahead in the 74th minute and Ollie Pearce adding a further effort two minutes later.

Adam Hinshelwood’s side rise one place, sitting a point behind new leaders Forest Green and two better off than Dean Brennan’s Bees, who are now
third.
