Jonas Eidevall hailed a 59,000-strong Emirates Stadium crowd as a vital factor in their 4-1 thrashing of Women's Super League leaders Chelsea on Sunday.

The victory took the Gunners level on points with Emma Hayes' Blues and reduced the goal difference deficit to just three.

And Eidevall believes the home atmosphere made all the difference.

He told the club website: "Two-and-a-half seasons ago we were playing Chelsea with 9,000 people here and now we're at 59,000 people.

"It's 59,000 people that scream their lungs out for Arsenal.

"What an atmosphere we created together and how much I just look forward to getting back here again for the next time."

Solid City

Gareth Taylor praised the team effort that got Manchester City over the line against Aston Villa.

A Lauren Hemp brace was enough to secure a 2-1 win for City, who sit third in the WSL table.

And Taylor believes it was a victory for the collective.

He told the club website: "That was a team out there — and a team that won that game, regardless of whether the players got on to the pitch or not.

"The determination from the team is top class and they deserve a rest now.

"They'll have a few days now which will be nice for them to rest and then try to finish the year [against Everton] on a high."

Foxes' fear factor

Willie Kirk bemoaned Leicester's inability to deal with pressure as they surrendered a two-goal lead inside the last 10 minutes of their game at Brighton to draw 2-2.

Lena Petermann and Jutta Rantala had the Foxes hunting a third WSL win of the season at Broadfield Stadium.

But the hosts fought back, with an Elisabeth Terland brace leaving visiting boss Kirk frustrated at full-time.

He told the BBC: "There's definitely a fear and it's appearing in different costumes in different games.

"Sometimes it is when we're winning and there is a feeling that maybe we shouldn't be winning against this team or we've now got something to lose.

"We have a fantastic sports psychologist.

"We have got the players working hard on it as well, in terms of scenario planning and thinking about what we do when we are in this position."
