Wales star Ramsey signs for Nice after Juve departure
Wales international Aaron Ramsey is ready for a "new chapter" after signing for Nice on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Juventus was terminated last month after a disappointing three years in Turin, which saw him make just 49 Serie A appearances.
After spending the second half of last season on loan at Rangers, Ramsey has opted to make the Ligue 1 switch.
The ex-Arsenal ace had been linked with moves to boyhood club Cardiff and Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest.
Ramsey will be focussed on hitting peak form and fitness on the French Riviera ahead of this winter’s World Cup in Qatar.
The midfielder was a crucial part of Wales’ side as they booked their spot in the tournament for the first time since 1958.
On the move, he tweeted: "A new chapter with Nice. Can’t wait to get started."
Nice finished fifth in Ligue 1 last term to qualify for the Europa Conference League, but have had a change of manager over the summer.
Ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Lucien Favre takes charge for the second time after replacing Christian Galtier, who is now at Paris Saint-Germain.
Ramsey could make his debut in their season opener against Toulouse this Sunday.
