Boe Risa ends two-year Man Utd spell to join Atletico Madrid
Manchester United have announced midfielder Vilde Boe Risa has left the Women's Super League club to join Atletico Madrid.
The 28-year-old Norway international signed for the Red Devils in July 2021 and went on to make 44 appearances for them, scoring eight goals.
Boe Risa helped Marc Skinner's side finish in a Champions League berth in the WSL for the first time and reach a maiden FA Cup final last season.
She follows the likes of Alessia Russo and Ona Batlle in making departures from United, whose new signings include Geyse and Hinata Miyazawa.
Brazil international Geyse. 25, joins after winning the Spanish title, Spanish Super Cup and Women's Champions League last term.
Miyazawa won the Golden Boot at the Women's World Cup with five goals during Japan's run to the quarter-finals.
Canadian winger Adriana Leon was another departure from Red Devils on Monday, signing a two-year deal with fellow WSL side Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old, who joined United from West Ham in July 2022, made just five WSL appearances for Skinner's side last season.
It remains to be seen whether Mary Earps will be on her way out, with reports Arsenal are keen on landing the England goalkeeper before the window shuts on Thursday.
Earps, 30, is yet to agree a new contract with last season's FA Cup runners-up and her current deal expires in June.
