Tuesday's World Cup Bet Builder tips: England and Netherlands should progress

Tuesday's World Cup bet builder features matches from Group A and Group B, as the Netherlands look to overcome hosts Qatar and neighbours Wales and England square off.

Sterling to score in comfortable England success

Bet 1: Back England to win to nil

England will expect to dominate against Wales and if they play anywhere near as well as they did in their tournament-opener against Iran then a comfortable win is on the cards.

Gareth Southgate's men turned in a near-perfect display against Iran, who have since beaten Wales to suggest that the much-lauded 6-2 success was even better than originally thought.

True, the Three Lions were taken down a couple of notches when a dynamic USA held them to a deserved 0-0 draw in their second match, but the fact remains that they are firmly on course for the last 16 and should not have too many problems seeing off Rob Page's side, who have been poor so far.

After a dismal opening half, Wales briefly flickered into life in the second half of their first game against USA, before they were second best against Iran, losing the shot, corner and shot on target count against Carlos Queiroz's side.

An ageing Gareth Bale is struggling to exert his old influence on the Dragons on this the grandest of stages, while Wales look short of quality and experience at this level.

Bet 2: Back Raheem Sterling to score 

Raheem Sterling has not enjoyed a great start to life at Chelsea this season but he looked much more like his old self in England's big win over Iran, notching another goal for his country in a major tournament to add to the three he scored in last summer's Euros.

Sterling, like several other Three Lions regulars, seems to come alive on the international stage and he looks solid value to net against the Welsh as part of this Bet Builder.

Bet 3: Back Over two goals 

If we are assuming England will win fairly comfortably, it is fair to suggest there will be at least three goals in this crucial final group match.

While teams are often cautious in their first two games, Wales must attack now and, even though they may not be good enough to score, they will undoubtedly leave a talented England attacking unit with plenty of space to thrive in behind in the final third.

An England XI featuring the goalscoring prowess of Harry Kane, Sterling, Bukayo Saka and then plenty of threat from the bench with the likes of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford should mean plenty of goals in Al Rayyan.

Janssen can notch for victorious Dutch

Bet 1: Back Vincent Janssen to score 

The Netherlands have not yet particularly caught the eye in Qatar, beating Senegal with two late goals before being held to a 1-1 draw by Ecuador.

However, they should be easily good enough to beat hosts Qatar, who have looked out of their depth, losing to both Ecuador and Senegal by two-goal margins.

If the Dutch do come out on top, as expected, then Janssen should be among the goalscorers as the Antwerp forward looks to transfer his impressive club form from the domestic scene this season.

The former Tottenham man has managed nine goals in 17 league games for the Belgian outfit, and he has an impressive one in three goal ratio for Netherlands, hitting seven goals for his country so far from 21 caps.

Bet 2: Back Abdelkarim Hassan to receive a card

Qatar's defending has been calamitous at times in the tournament and they picked up four bookings in the first game and then three in the second.

This final group match against probably the best team in the section should follow a similar pattern then, with defensive mistakes punished by yellow cards.

Abdelkarim Hassan has played every minute so far for his country and will expect to keep his place in the line-up even if the hosts make changes for a game that is meaningless in terms of affecting the fact they have already been knocked out.

He has been booked 13 times for Qatar across 120 games so the full-back, who will have his work cut out looking after Memphis Depay and the very talented Cody Gakpo, may add to that unwanted tally on Tuesday.

Bet 3: Back Post or crossbar to be hit

With the Dutch likely to create plenty of chances, it seems logical to suggest they will also strike the woodwork at some point against a weak Qatar side.

The hosts have shipped five goals in their two games so far and across those two defeats to Ecuador and Senegal they conceded 18 shots, of which nine were on target.

Expect the Dutch, with attacking talent like Gakpo, Janssen and Depay to have plenty of joy, although they may rue their luck at least once if the bar or post intervenes.
