Transfer Talk: Perisic is in a League of his own
West Ham and Everton are ready to battle it out for experienced Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
The 32-year-old Croatian is out of contract at the San Siro next June and Spanish outlet Fichajes believe the two Premier League sides are leading contenders to be his next destination.
A Champions League winner as recently as 2020, Perisic is not exactly out of favour with the Nerazzurri having started all but one of their nine Serie A games so far this term.
But an extension of the Croatian international's current deal does not appear to be imminent, which has sparked interest from around the continent.
As well as the English duo, Bundesliga sides are certain to be monitoring in a man who has featured in Germany’s top division 134 times across spells with Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.
The Hammers, flying high under the tutelage of David Moyes, would see Perisic as an ideal way to add further quality to a compact but impressive squad.
And the Europa League contenders already have a strong central European presence in their squad, with Czech trio Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek and Alex Kral all currently plying their trade in East London.
Everton have European ambitions of their own and Toffees boss Rafael Benitez has worked with some of the game’s most high-profile stars.
The Spanish tactician has already eked out excellent performances from his wide players at Goodison Park this term and Perisic would fit his system perfectly.
