Luka Modric could soon line up alongside Lionel Messi as Inter Miami target the Croatian midfielder as their next marquee signing.

The Major League Soccer side have already recruited Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba to bolster their squad but could dip back into the LaLiga market for the Real Madrid maestro.

Spanish sources claim David Beckham's franchise are exploring a deal for either January or next summer as Modric approaches the end of his contract with Los Blancos.

The 38-year-old has not featured in Madrid's last two matches and is growing frustrated at the lack of minutes he is getting on the pitch.

It is the first time he has missed consecutive matches since 2012 and with the dominance of Jude Bellingham in midfield, he may be set for an even longer spell on the sidelines.

The report also claims Modric rejected several offers from Saudi Arabia over the summer but a move to MLS may be a more enticing option for the former Tottenham man.

Linking up with Messi would bring more attention to football in the United States and help Beckham set the club on an even higher trajectory.

The former Ballon d'Or winner has been at the Spanish giants for 11 years but may be keen on a new challenge away from Madrid.
