Transfer Talk: United offer Maguire to Spurs for cut-price fee
Manchester United are prepared to sell Harry Maguire to Tottenham for £40million.
England centre-back Maguire, 30, is deemed surplus to requirements by United boss Erik ten Hag.
And although the ex-Leicester defender is under contract until 2025, Football Transfers say Old Trafford chiefs are open to offers.
Spurs will not be making any moves in the transfer market until their new manager is appointed, however.
Former Foxes coach Brendan Rodgers briefly worked with Maguire in the East Midlands and is rumoured to want to recruit the Yorkshireman to Tottenham if he is offered the role.
But Arne Slot, who is favourite to fill the vacancy, is thought to have no interest in landing the Red Devils man.
Instead, he will urge chairman Daniel Levy to attempt to sign Manchester City ace Aymeric Laporte.
Should talks between the two clubs fail, West Ham are understood to be an alternative destination for Maguire.
