Liverpool have turned their attentions to French duo Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone as their dramatic midfield revamp continues.

The Reds confirmed the capture of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton yesterday, with the World Cup winner penning a reported five-year deal at Anfield.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano suggests they have no intention of slowing down in their quest to add reinforcements to Jurgen Klopp's engine room.

Defensive enforcer Thuram, 22, has been a regular at the base of Nice's midfield for three seasons and earned a first senior cap for France back in March.

Meanwhile, Kone — also 22 — has seven Les Bleus appearances to his name and has won plenty of admirers for his performances at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.

Romano claims the Reds are in talks with the agents of both prospects, with alternative reports suggesting a verbal agreement may have already been reached with Thuram.

It is thought Nice will demand around £55million for their prized asset, whose father Lilian was a World Cup and European Championship winner with France in 1998 and 2000 respectively.
