Liverpool and Brighton both want to sign Chelsea defender Levi Colwill this summer.

Colwill is currently starring at the European Under-21 Championship, where England are preparing to face Spain in Saturday's final.

But the 20-year-old's club future remains up for debate and Football London are reporting that there is considerable interest from two of the Blues' Premier League rivals.

The Reds are keen to bolster their defensive options after shipping 47 league goals last season and see the centre-back as an ideal addition.

According to talkSPORT, Brighton have not given up hope of re-signing last season's loanee on a permanent deal, meanwhile, with the Seagulls prepared to pay £40million to sign him.

The left-footed defender spent the 2022-23 campaign on loan at the Amex Stadium, making 22 appearances as Roberto De Zerbi's side qualified for the Europa League and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

The two clubs are already in negotiations over midfielder Moises Caicedo.

While Chelsea are adamant that Colwill is not for sale, he has just two years left on his contract and wants assurances over his playing time from new boss Mauricio Pochettino before deciding on his next move.
