Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to transfer expert Nicolo Schira.

Moroccan international midfielder Amrabat stood out at the 2022 World Cup before helping La Viola reach the Europa Conference League final.

Although the Serie A outfit lost the Prague showpiece at the hands of West Ham, their 26-year-old enforcer shone on the big stage.

He made 49 appearances in all competitions last term as Vincenzo Italiano's side finished eighth in the Italian top flight last term, missing out on European qualification.

A move to reunite with former Utrecht boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford would see Amrabat take a huge step up to competing in the Champions League for the first time since the 2018-19 season with Club Brugge.

Schira reports that the midfield maestro has agreed to a five-year contract with the Red Devils and a yearly salary worth nearly £3.5million.

But there is a stumbling block that remains with United and Fiorentina yet to agree a fee for the Dutch-born talent's services.

However, with just one year left on his current deal in Florence, the Red Devils may feel they have a good chance of landing their target for a reasonable price.
