Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli are set to make a £30million bid to sign Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City.

The club have already made a £25m-a-year offer to the Algerian, according to The Athletic, and must now convince the European champions to sell.

City are said to be keen to keep hold of the player, who has two years remaining on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Though the 32-year-old missed out to Bernardo Silva on the right wing in last season's FA Cup and Champions League finals, the Portuguese is viewed as a replacement for the departed Ilkay Gundogan in the centre of midfield.

That means that Mahrez would still have a key role to play as Pep Guardiola's side aim to defend three trophies next term.

Since signing from Leicester in 2018, the winger has won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three EFL Cups and a Champions League.

He has scored 78 goals in 236 appearances in his five years at the club.
