Real Madrid are plotting an audacious move for Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son.

The popular South Korean, 30, shared the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah last term after netting an impressive 23 Premier League goals.

He is yet to hit the same heights this season, however — and German outlet Sport1 say Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti has been keeping an eye on Spurs’ No7.

Son is contracted in North London until the summer of 2025 and has never publicly expressed a wish to leave, having enjoyed a fantastic partnership with Harry Kane in recent campaigns.

Yet his advancing years mean time is of the essence if he does want to depart for pastures new, potentially mirroring the scenario which saw Sadio Mane swap Liverpool for Bayern Munich four months ago.

Tottenham were widely tipped as dark horses for the Premier League title after an impressive summer of strengthening by their decorated boss Antonio Conte.

But back-to-back defeats have left them five points behind bitter rivals and early league leaders Arsenal despite having played a game more.

Another trophyless season could prompt talismanic figures to consider moves away and club chiefs are already taking preventative action.

Kane, 29, has been chased by the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich in recent times and is sure to attract more interest at the end of the current campaign.

Tying the England captain down to a new deal is something Spurs are desperately working on, according to 90min, with the club confident of reaching an agreement in the new year.
