Arsenal are looking to offload both Granit Xhaka and Hector Bellerin to fund their move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves

The Mail suggest that a bid of around £40 million will be required to lure Neves to the Emirates, which means departures are needed to finance any potential deal for the Portuguese star.

Bellerin, 26, looks set for a return to his native Spain with both Sevilla and Villarreal thought to be interested — the latter of whom are managed by former Gunners boss Unai Emery.

It is thought that the Yellow Submarine have already submitted a bid and are the favourites to land the full-back, who has four caps for the Spanish national side.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Xhaka could be bound for Roma according to the Daily Express, with former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho a known admirer of the Swiss midfielder.

Talking in 2019, Mourinho said of Xhaka: “'He is the main man in the entire Arsenal midfield.

“You can't see it unless I lend you one of my eyes. But without him, Arsenal is lost. He is a leader. Remember, mistakes are made by humans all the time.”

The duo have made just under 350 Premier League appearances between them in North London but appear surplus to requirements as Mikel Arteta starts to rebuild his squad following a disappointing 2020-21 campaign.

West Ham are ready to step up their pursuit of Manchester United star Jesse Lingard according to The Sun

Lingard, 28, enjoyed an inspired loan spell with the Hammers during the second half of last season that rejuvenated his stalled career — even propelling him back into England contention.

But after narrowly missing out on Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2020 last week, his club future is back on the agenda and the Iron are now ready to make their move.

The midfielder racked up nine goals and five assists in only 16 appearances at the London Stadium, with David Moyes making no secret of his desire to sign Lingard permanently should he be made available.

Now it looks like an opening offer is imminent as the Irons look to strengthen ahead of their maiden appearance in the Europa League group stage.
