Transfer Talk: Atletico outcast Cunha set for Wolves move
Atletico Madrid and Brazil striker Matheus Cunha is reportedly set to leave Spain and join Premier League side Wolves.
Cunha, 23, was slapped on the transfer list after failing to score in 17 appearances in all competitions for Atletico this season.
The eight-cap international only joined the LaLiga giants in the summer of 2021, with expectations high having led his country to gold at the Olympics.
Yet boss Diego Simeone has confirmed the forward's departure and ESPN claim his switch to Molineux will be an initial loan with an option to buy.
Simeone, 52, said: "He is on his way out, about to sign for his new club, he gave us everything he had."
Cunha will become the first signing by Julen Lopetegui after the former Sevilla coach replaced Bruno Lage in the Wolves hotseat.
The Midlands outfit currently sit four points from safety at the bottom of the Premier League.
