Transfer Talk: Chelsea boss Poch adds Osimhen to January wish list
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has added Napoli and Nigeria star Victor Osimhen to a list of possible recruits in January.
The Blues are lacking firepower in attack and have scored 11 Premier League goals in eight games so far this season.
According to ESPN, Pochettino is a fan of 24-year-old finisher Osimhen, who has already bagged six Serie A goals in 2023-24.
Brentford's Ivan Toney is another option for Chelsea, but the England international has not played for the Bees since being handed a ban in May and cannot return until January.
Both Toney and Osimhen are likely to require a sizeable sum to prise them away from their clubs, with their current deals running until 2025.
Osimhen has built a reputation as one of Europe's elite strikers and although he recently fell out with Napoli over a critical social media post, he is still likely to command a fee near the £100million mark.
He has reportedly rejected advances from the Italian champions about a new contract which will give the Blues renewed hope that they can prise him away in January.
Chelsea currently sit 11th in the Premier League and are already nine points behind leaders Tottenham.
