Transfer Talk: Chelsea consider swoop for Eagles star Zaha
Chelsea may revive their interest in Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha in the final throes of the transfer window.
Thomas Tuchel is desperate for the Blues to reinforce their forward line before Thursday’s 11pm deadline.
The Independent report that although the focus had been on a No9, Zaha’s pace and his ability to play through the middle and out wide appeals to Tuchel.
Zaha, 29, has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in years gone by and is still keen to play for a big six club.
While Palace would be reluctant to sell and had previously set an £80millon price tag, their homegrown star has entered the final year of his contract.
Despite Patrick Vieira putting together a side that Zaha has thrived in, scoring 14 league goals last term and three in three already this season, the lure of Champions League football would be too good to turn down.
A move for Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 33, also continues to rumble on as Chelsea keep their options open.
It is expected to be a busy week for the Blues with Football Insider claiming they have offered Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and £25m to Everton as they continue their pursuit of Anthony Gordon.
And according to The Mail, Ajax will look to sign Hakim Ziyech if they sell Antony to Manchester United.
