Barcelona boss Xavi has confirmed they are interested in Robert Lewandowski

Barcelona boss Xavi has revealed his side are looking in to signing Robert Lewandowski.

But the 42-year-old admitted it will not be easy with the Polish striker having another year left on his deal at Bayern Munich.

Barca are looking to strengthen their forward line, which is currently led by January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And Lewandowski, 33, wants a new challenge after spending eight years at Bayern, scoring 344 goals in that time.

With Manchester City signing Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe opting to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, the Camp Nou looks the most obvious destination for the Pole.

It is just a question as to whether the cash-strapped Catalans can finance a deal for the goalscoring machine.

Xavi said: "It is a possibility that he could come, yes. He has said it publicly as well.

"There are negotiations, but it won't be easy, he has a one-year contract with Bayern."
