Barcelona have their sights set on signing Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic in the January transfer window.

The Catalan club are desperately seeking reinforcements and have identified the 23-year-old as a viable option.

It is believed that the Blaugrana will target the American on an initial loan deal if they can convince the European champions to part ways with the speedster.

Mundo Deportivo report that Pulisic's lack of game time in a team packed full of attacking talent means he could be open to a move.

The United States international has had injury problems this season but has still scored twice in six league appearances for the Blues.

The Spanish giants see Pulisic as an alternative to Manchester City's Ferran Torres, who is likely to command a substantial fee before any negotiations can begin.

Xavi is set on strengthening his side after seeing them exit the Champions League and lose further ground to Real Madrid in LaLiga.

The beleaguered club could also attempt to poach either Andreas Christensen or Antonio Rudiger in the summer.

However, the Daily Star report that Tottenham are also interested in Christensen and Rudiger is said to be holding out for a new contract worth up to £400,000 a week.
