Transfer Talk: Barca keen on deal for Brighton star Mitoma
Barcelona are keen on doing a deal for Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma.
Reports in Spain state that the winger has caught the eye of Barca scouts, who love his dribbling ability and eye for goal.
And it has not gone unnoticed by the LaLiga champions that the Japanese international's contract expires in 2025, meaning a deal will be possible next summer when the Seagulls are likely to cash in on their asset.
Mitoma has been one of the leading Premier League attackers since the beginning of last season.
He scored 10 goals and assisted eight in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign and has completed seven goal involvements in 11 matches so far this term.
The report states that Xavi is keen on adding a left winger to his squad, with the majority of his current options — such as Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal — preferring to operate from the right.
The club's priority is to sign a holding midfielder but a move for Mitoma is one they are keen to pursue as well.
