Tottenham have reportedly entered negotiations with Barcelona over a loan deal for Ansu Fati.

The 20-year-old forward has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Xavi's first-choice XI after struggling with various injury issues, starting in only 12 of his 36 LaLiga appearances last season.

Fati still managed to score seven goals and register three assists, though, with only Robert Lewandowski finding the back of the net more times for the Catalans as they won the title.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, discussions are being held between Spurs and Barca over the conditions of the loan deal.

The Spanish outfit reportedly want 100% of Fati's wages covered and he is also being linked with Chelsea, although no formal approach has been made by Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Spurs' offensive department could do with strengthening before Friday's transfer deadline following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

Fati has operated as a traditional centre forward at Barca, while he is also effective when deployed on the wing.

The No10 debuted for the Blaugrana in August 2019 at the age of 16 and then made his Spain bow at 17, becoming the nation's youngest ever scorer with a strike against Ukraine in September 2020.
