Transfer Talk: United boss Ten Hag wants to sign Blues winger Ziyech

Erik ten Hag wants Manchester United to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech.

But the Old Trafford hierarchy are not convinced by a move for the Moroccan playmaker.

So far, United bosses have been happy to sign players Ten Hag is familiar with as he begins his time in charge at the club.

He was Ziyech’s boss during the 29-year-old’s best spell of his career at Ajax between 2017 and 2020.

However, the Manchester Evening News say they are not keen on moving for the Chelsea ace.

Ziyech has scored 14 goals and notched 10 assists in 83 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit but was an unused sub as the Blues won 1-0 at Everton last weekend and has been linked with a departure this summer.

With a deal for Antony from Ajax looking unlikely due to his £70million price tag, Ten Hag views him as viable alternative.

The same report suggests that United failed with a last-minute move to sign Timo Werner before he moved back to RB Leipzig.

United were unable to convince the German to stay in the Premier League and move to Old Trafford as they faced more frustration in the transfer market.
