Paris Saint-Germain have held talks with Marcus Rashford’s representatives over a potential move to the French capital.

But a summer switch for the Manchester United forward appears unlikely despite the ongoing discussions.

Rashford, 24, has one year left on his deal at Old Trafford, with the club having the option to extend it for a further 12 months.

According to Sky Sports, the Red Devils are relaxed over PSG’s recent advances and do not fear losing their academy product.

They also remain short of options up front following Edinson Cavani’s departure in the summer on a free transfer.

PSG, on the other hand, have signed Hugo Ekitike from Reims and already have the much-vaunted trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar to call upon.

Despite that, new boss Christophe Galtier is keen to add another forward to his squad.

While Rashford looks set to stay for the 2022-23 season, PSG’s interest serves as a warning to United ahead of next summer’s window.

The England international will have one year left on his deal then and if it has been another disappointing campaign for both player and club, he may feel a departure is best.

That one of the big European sides hold an interest now suggests there will not be a shortage of suitors when the time comes.
