Transfer Talk: Chelsea eye Ram-raid for Benfica hotshot Goncalo

Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos this summer.

The Blues are in desperate need of a centre forward after a disappointing campaign in which they have lacked a cutting edge. 

With Romelu Lukaku facing an uncertain future when his loan spell at Inter Milan ends and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang edging closer to an exit, the club's next permanent manager will need reinforcements.

Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are two of the most coveted No9s in Europe but Football Insider say Ramos, 21, would be a more affordable option.

The Portuguese marksman — thought to be valued at £70million — thrust himself on to the global stage with a hat-trick at last year's World Cup in Qatar.

And Stamford Bridge chiefs will be confident of reaching an agreement due to Ramos sharing the same representation as current loanee Joao Felix.

The Portugal international has hit 25 goals in all competitions this term, firing Benfica to a 10-point lead at the top of the Primeira Liga.

But the Lisbon giants will be in no rush to sell with their prized asset under contract until 2026.
