Transfer Talk: Spurs ready to have a Luk at Romelu deal
Linking up with former boss Antonio Conte at Tottenham is an option for unhappy Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian was left out of the Blues squad for their 2-2 draw with Liverpool after his controversial interview sent shockwaves through the club.
Now reports in Italy suggest Spurs are one of the clubs Lukaku may be interested in moving to if he leaves Stamford Bridge.
After scoring 24 goals as Inter Milan won Serie A last season, Chelsea splashed £97.5million on their former player.
But in an interview conducted earlier in December and released late last week, Lukaku revealed he was far from happy in West London.
Lukaku said: "I'm not happy with the situation, this is normal. But I am a worker and I must not give up.
"I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more."
After his team fought back to draw with Liverpool yesterday, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel insisted there is a way back for his star striker.
Tuchel said: "He is our player, there is always a way back.
"We will clear this behind closed doors and once we have made a decision and Romelu knows, you will maybe know also. It is not to be discussed now."
If that conversation does not go to plan, Spurs may test the water with the prospect of playing under Conte a temptation for Lukaku.
But they would be far from the only club interested in the Belgium international if his second spell at Stamford Bridge is to come to an unhappy end.
