Transfer Talk: Gunners keen to add Luiz to their armoury
Arsenal are interested in signing Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa as they aim to bolster their midfield options.
The Gunners are keen to make an extra addition as soon as January, according to 90min, and have returned to a former target.
Mikel Arteta previously tried to sign the Brazilian in the summer of 2022, seeing multiple bids turned down by Villa Park chiefs for the nine-cap international.
And after a superb start to the 2023-24 campaign, Luiz's form means he is back on their radar.
The 25-year-old has scored in six consecutive league home matches, including a brace in Villa's 4-1 victory over West Ham on Sunday.
Not only is he a fine player in the middle of the park but he also excels from set-pieces, taking corners, free-kicks and penalties for Unai Emery's men.
Arsenal do have other midfield targets should a move for Luiz not come off.
They are also taking an interest in Fluminense talent Andre, Quinten Timber of Feyenoord and Valencia starlet Javi Guerra while an enquiry has also been made to Royal Antwerp regarding Arthur Vermeeren.
