Manchester United and Chelsea are on red alert after Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo delivered an inconclusive update on his future.

Todibo, 24, is rapidly becoming a man in demand having helped his high-flying side to a staggering 11 clean sheets in 16 Ligue 1 outings this term.

Contracted until 2027, the youngster insists he is happy in the south of France but also refused to close the door on a summer exit.

Todibo said: "I am at Nice and we're having a great season.

"I don't have my head elsewhere. If I did it would be difficult for me personally and for the group too.

"I feel really good at Nice. We'll see what happens in the summer but we're not there yet.

"I don't want to get ahead of myself. I don't want to give false hope. For now, I'm here at Nice."

United moved for Todibo last summer but were unable to convince the former Barcelona prospect on an Old Trafford switch.

However, the Red Devils hold an edge on their rivals when it comes to negotiations given their new joint-owner Jim Radcliffe also owns Nice.

Chelsea could be a more attractive option for the player though, with a trio of French centre-backs already at Stamford Bridge in the form of Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.
