Tranmere Rovers returned to winning ways with two late goals sealing a 2-1 victory at Bromley.

It was a result that left Bromley still without a win in nine league matches.

The Ravens started the game better and fashioned several good opportunities in the opening half hour, including a shot from Danny Imray that fizzed over the crossbar.

However, it was Tranmere who went closest nine minutes before the interval when Connor Jennings saw his strike saved on to the stanchion by goalkeeper Grant Smith.

The second half started in a similar vein to the first. Idris Odutayo’s header was cleared off the line for the home side and, at the other end, Cameron Norman’s deflected effort drifted narrowly past Smith’s post.

Tranmere then took the lead 15 minutes from time, with Omari Patrick nipping in ahead of hesitant defenders to poke home.

One became two five minutes later when Harvey Saunders took advantage of a poor back pass to slot past Smith.

Bromley managed a consolation goal in stoppage time with Louis Dennis getting on the end of Odutayo’s cross, but it was too late to rescue the hosts.
