Tottenham pair Heung-Min Son and Ange Postecoglou have been awarded the Premier League Player and Manager of the Month awards for September.

The South Korean forward scored six goals in four league games last month, including a hat-trick at Burnley and a brace in the North London derby at the Emirates.

He beat out competition from Julian Alvarez, Jarrod Bowen, Pedro Neto, Mohamed Salah, Kieran Trippier and Ollie Watkins to scoop the prize.

Postecoglou, meanwhile, has won the award for the second consecutive month, after leading his side to 10 points from their four matches.

It means Spurs have won every individual manager and player gong so far this term after James Maddison received the Player of the Month prize for August.

Upon receiving his award, Son said: "I want to say thank you to everyone who voted for me.

"Now we want to keep up our good form."

Tottenham sit top of the Premier League table during the October international break having won six and drawn two of their opening eight league matches.

Their three September victories all came in dramatic fashion — scoring two injury-time goals to beat Sheffield United, receiving a helping hand from VAR during the defeat of Liverpool and seeing off Luton with 10 men.

Their next match comes at home to Fulham on Monday, October 23 before they travel across the capital to Crystal Palace on October 27.

Postecoglou's side must then play Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle in the run of games before the festive period.
