Tomas Soucek was West Ham's last-gasp goal hero once again as they sunk Backa Topola 1-0 in the Europa League.

Soucek's last three goals for the Hammers have now been late winners, with the previous two coming in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest and Burnley.

And the midfielder, who has netted seven in all competitions this season, is loving seeing the ball hit the back of the net on a regular basis.

Speaking after the game in Serbia, he said: "I'm enjoying life because it's perfect. It's not like the goals have been for 4-0 or 5-0.

"They've been very important goals, many of them, and they've helped us get points. It's very important for me, for the team and I'm just happy I can help."

Despite the result booking West Ham's place in the knockout phase, it was a largely poor showing.

But Soucek's late winner means they only need a point against Freiburg in their last game to top Group A.

The Czech Republic international said: "It was a big goal because today was really difficult for us in every context.

"Especially before half-time, we didn't play well enough or quick enough. Even in the second half we didn't create that many chances.

"We wanted to win, we want to be first in the group and I'm happy I can help the team with the goal.

"We want to win the group so we can go straight to the round of 16.

"It's good that a point would be enough [in the final group game] as we want to finish first."

Hammers David Moyes added: "Tomas is in great form, not only for us but for his country.

"He got 10 goals for us in his first season and it's seven now so he has a chance to reach that figure again."
