Substitute Adam Campbell scored a stunning second-half equaliser to earn managerless Hartlepool a 1-1 draw at Maidenhead in the National League.
In his second spell with Pools following his summer switch from Crawley, the north-east native fired home from the edge of the box from a corner in the 68th minute.
Pools, with Lennie Lawrence in interim charge following the departure of Darren Sarll earlier this week, had fallen behind just past the half-hour mark.
Luke Waterfall was penalised for a foul on Will de Havilland and Sam Barratt converted the resulting penalty.
Reece Smith and Shawn McCoulsky had other chances for Maidenhead with Nathan Sheron and Anthony Mancini forcing saves from home goalkeeper Craig Ross at the spoils were shared.
