Burnley will look to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches when they travel to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

Scott Parker's side have continued to chip away in the second tier and will resume their campaign after the international break in third, after collecting 18 points from nine games.

Hosts Wednesday are 15th, but they have recently climbed the Championship table after a three-match unbeaten run.

Team news

Owls coach Danny Rohl is hoping Liam Palmer can recover from a knock, but Olaf Kobacki, Nathaniel Chalobah and Ben Hamer are not expected to return until the end of the month.

Burnley's treatment room is overflowing, with Manuel Benson, Mike Tresor, Nathan Redmond, Hannes Delcroix, and Hjalmar Ekdal out for another two weeks, while Jordan Beyer and Aaron Ramsey are set to return in November.

Sheffield Wednesday have moved away from the relegation zone in recent weeks after collecting seven points in three games, thanks to wins over West Brom and Coventry.

The Owls have lost just one of their four home games in the league this season, with Leeds running out 2-0 winners in August.

Burnley have lost just one Championship game this season and they are unbeaten in six matches in the second tier.

Under 1.5 goals has landed in seven of the Clarets' last eight games in all competitions.

Prediction

Rohl's team have started to show some consistency in recent weeks and collecting seven points from the last nine available is evidence of this.

However, Burnley have lost only to Sunderland in the league this season, one of two teams to sit above them in the table, and they will pose a much tougher challenge.

Burnley should assert their dominance from the first whistle and their recent form suggests they should be able to grind out a vital three points.
