Serie A Matchday 34: Champions Napoli set for triumphant homecoming

Napoli will take to the field for the first time since being crowned Serie A champions when Fiorentina visit the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Elsewhere, dethroned AC Milan host second-placed Lazio, as Italy's fight for Champions League qualification intensifies.

Inter Milan are looking to hold onto fourth place against Roma, while Atalanta face off with Juventus.

At the other end of the table, Cremonese and Spezia meet for a contest that could prove decisive in the relegation battle.

Game of the weekend: Napoli vs Fiorentina (Sunday, 5pm)

Napoli will step out at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to celebrate their first title since the man their stadium is named after was playing for them.

Luciano Spalletti's men face Fiorentina having claimed the Scudetto in swashbuckling style — they have won six games more than any other side ahead of Matchday 34 (25 wins), losing just three times.

In the process, they have scored more goals (69) and conceded fewer (23) than any other team in the division to date.

The Partenopei also boast both the league's top scorer in Victor Osimhen (22 goals) and its leading assist-provider in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (10 assists).

There is little doubt that Napoli have deserved to claim their first Scudetto in 33 years.

AC Milan vs Lazio (Saturday, 2pm)

Milan are officially no longer the reigning champions of Italy, with Napoli sealing the title in midweek.

However, the Rossoneri have plenty still to fight for as they look to secure a top-four finish, with high-flying Lazio their next opponents.

Stefano Pioli's side have drawn four of their last five league games — and their lack of victories has seen them slide away from the Champions League places.

The hosts have just missed a blip in form from the Biancocelesti, who bounced back from successive defeats by beating Sassuolo 2-0 last time out.

Roma vs Inter Milan (Saturday, 5pm)

Roma will be intent on leapfrogging their top-four rivals Inter in the capital.

The Nerazzurri occupy fourth spot heading into this gameweek but Jose Mourinho's outfit are one of three teams — alongside Milan and Atalanta — that sit just two points behind them.

Inter do come into this clash in strong form, though, having just beaten Empoli, Lazio and Verona in succession, scoring an impressive 12 times across those three matches.

The Giallorossi, meanwhile, are winless in their last three league outings — losing to Atalanta and drawing with Milan and Monza in a streak that has proved damaging to their Champions League qualification hopes.

Atalanta vs Juventus (Sunday, 11.30am)

A strong run of form has seen Atalanta move level on points with both Milan and Roma — and within two points of a precious top-four place ahead of their clash with Juventus.

The reversal of Juve's 15-point deduction pushed Atalanta down the pecking order in the race for European qualification but La Dea have beaten Roma, Torino and Spezia to close the gap.

That change of fortunes has put them within touching distance of second-placed Lazio, with the Rome outfit just one point ahead of them.

These teams played out an enthralling 3-3 draw in January's reverse fixture and Atalanta — the division's third-highest scorers (56 goals) — will look to trouble Juventus' rearguard once again.

Cremonese vs Spezia (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Cremonese's clash with Spezia could have significant repercussions in the fight for survival.

La Cremo still have plenty of work to do to avoid the drop — but a win against 17th-placed Spezia would close the gap between the pair to just three points.

To their credit, Davide Ballardini's men have battled hard to make up for their dire start to the campaign. They have lost just one of their last five Serie A outings (two wins, two draws).

And Spezia's seven-game winless run (three draws, four defeats) has seen them slide towards the drop zone. Failure to win yet again could see them fall into the bottom three.
