Kerr admits she is not 100% after hat-trick against Paris FC
Chelsea star Sam Kerr admitted she is still "not quite there yet" after netting a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory over Paris FC.
The Australian striker's treble helped Emma Hayes' side pick up their first Champions League win of the season following a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid last Wednesday.
Kerr opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge on the half hour mark, expertly finishing a delightful pass from Lauren James.
The 30-year-old then netted twice in the space of 10 second-half minutes after Thea Greboval's equaliser before the interval, with Sophie Ingle getting in on the act for Chelsea in stoppage time.
Kerr said: "I felt like I was lucky with my first touch for my hat-trick goal but then I saw her [Chiamaka Nnadozie] back-pedalling so I thought I'd try the lob. I don't mind those ones to be honest!
"I am getting really close to 100%. I just need more consistency, more training and more games.
"This last block has been difficult because you don't train that often. I am pretty close but I'm not quite there yet."
Fran Kirby's introduction at half-time in place of Jessie Fleming helped spark Chelsea into life, with Kerr hailing her team-mate's positive impact.
The hat-trick hero said: "Fran has had an amazing career and we know what she's done for Chelsea.
"She added a different spark tonight."
Chelsea boss Emma Hayes said: "I felt like we lacked a player closer to Sam in the first half so I brought on Fran and I felt that worked really well.
"Fran's little bit of quality gave us what we needed.
Hayes added: "I thought we looked leggy generally. It was a quiet changing room at half-time.
"Credit to my team, they dug in despite us looking sloppy at times.
"They are a good team, don't take anything away from them. To score four goals, and dig in, that is why I was impressed with my team."
Chelsea will now look to regroup for their Women's Super League outing against Leicester on Sunday ahead of the last international break of the year.
