Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with Jude Bellingham's debut in Real Madrid's 3-2 win over AC Milan last night.

Stefano Pioli's side went into the break two goals ahead courtesy of efforts from Fikayo Tomori and Luka Romero in front of 70,000 fans at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Los Angeles.

But while the first half was largely one to forget for Real, Bellingham's first start in their XI left Ancelotti purring.

The Madrid boss beamed: "I was really impressed with Bellingham. He played very well and the team has to get used to his quality, which is unbelievable.

"His arrival into the box is hugely important for the team. I like the system but we saw a few mistakes.

"We didn't play the ball out as we should have but I was pleased with the game overall."

After revving up his side during the interval, Ancelotti was far happier as a double from Federico Valverde and a late winner from Vinicius Junior saw the LaLiga giants complete an impressive comeback.

And the Italian tactician was clearly impressed by Bellingham's first appearance in a Madrid shirt.

He added: "He's a fantastic player, very important for us because he's a complete midfielder and he brings real pace and intensity to the game.

"He moves extremely well without the ball and he's different to the other midfielders we have.

"He makes the most of the free space and adds another dimension to this squad, which is fantastic."

Real return to action on Wednesday night against Manchester United at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

They complete their pre-season tour of the United States with games against arch-rivals Barcelona on July 29 and Italian giants Juventus on August 2.
