Jude Bellingham scored a last-minute goal as Real Madrid beat Champions League debutants Union Berlin 1-0.

Bellingham's incredible scoring record continued as the last-gasp winner was his sixth strike in as many matches since the move to Los Blancos in the summer.

Federico Valverde's strike deflected to the 20-year-old, who tapped into an empty net.

It is already the third time since his summer switch that the England star has grabbed the winning goal in the last 10 minutes.

Madrid were deserved winners — they fired off 22 shots compared to Union's three — although the German side looked set for an incredibly hard-fought draw at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were flat in the first half and failed to truly threaten the Union goal.

However, they came alive just after the break as Lucas Vazquez's cross for Rodrygo struck the outside of the post.

Less than ten minutes later, Joselu's header was tipped onto the woodwork.

Union's goalkeeper, Frederik Ronnow, then made two impressive saves to deny Rodrygo and Luka Modric.

Madrid will be delighted with the three points and to continue their unbeaten start to the season but will now have to prepare for a tricky trip to Scudetto winners Napoli.

The German side were in the second tier just five years ago so they can take solace from the fact that they were a minute away from stealing a point at the home of the 14-time Champions League winners.

Union will hope to grab three points when they host Portuguese side Braga in their next Champions League match.
