The Premier League stars who lit up Matchday 30

Tempers flared and drama ensued on Matchday 30 of the Premier League as clubs continued to fight for position at the top and bottom of the table.

The 10 matches on offer served up 28 goals with Manchester City closing the gap on leaders Arsenal to six points.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace secured a thumping 5-1 win at Leeds, Manchester United overcame Everton and Chelsea slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Wolves.

After a weekend full of action in the English top flight, we pick out our five best performers.

Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)

The Gunners may have squandered a 2-0 lead against Liverpool at Anfield, but the Reds would have walked away with all three points were it not for Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal's No1 played his part in putting off Mohamed Salah early in the second half as the Egyptian sent a penalty wide of the target and he pulled off two more spectacular saves late on.

Salah again was in the thick of the action as Jurgen Klopp's men pushed for a winner and his bending effort forced a stunning save from the England stopper who was at full stretch.

Ibrahima Konate then had his close-range effort saved, much to the frustration of the home supporters who were left confused at how the clash had ended as a 2-2 draw.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Arsenal's dropped points came after Manchester City thrashed Southampton 4-1 at St Mary's.

Erling Haaland returned to the starting XI after missing the win over Liverpool on MD29 and opened the scoring with a header moments before half-time.

Jack Grealish then added a second before the Norwegian marksman executed a stunning overhead kick for City's third.

Haaland combined with Grealish to volley past Gavin Bazunu and earn his side three more points on the road.

Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

Palace have found their form under Roy Hodgson and hit five past Leeds on Sunday to continue their resurgence. 

The Eagles have now won two on the bounce under Hodgson following the victory over Leicester last weekend and Michael Olise has been a focal point in Palace's free-flowing attack.

Olise, 21, provided three assists in the 5-1 win at Elland Road and created six chances in total.

Scott McTominay (Manchester United)

Manchester United recorded 21 shots in the first half during the 2-0 win over Everton, their highest tally on record in the Premier League since 2003-04.

Scott McTominay continued the fine form he displayed on international duty and opened the scoring for the Red Devils after 36 minutes.

His close-range effort was too powerful for Jordan Pickford, who could only watch as the Scot's near-post strike broke the deadlock.

McTominay's performance was a reminder of the impact he can have in Erik ten Hag's system despite rumours linking him with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Matheus Nunes (Wolves)

Wolves were the latest side to inflict defeat on Chelsea and it was Matheus Nunes' wonder strike that secured all three points for the home side.

The Portuguese forward found himself with space in the Blues' box and delivered one of the goals of the season, volleying past Kepa Arrizabalaga from an acute angle.

His first Premier League goal of the season will live long in the memory of the Molineux faithful and the victory may be enough to keep them in the top flight for another year.
