Frank talk

Thomas Frank has confirmed Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo will be out for "some weeks".

The Cameroon international had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff during the Bees' 2-1 defeat at Brighton on Wednesday, having injured his ankle ligaments.

Frank said: "It is bad. I don't know how bad. We don't have the exact number of weeks.

"He will definitely be out for Saturday and for weeks."

At his press conference ahead of Brentford's trip to Sheffield United on Saturday, Frank was quizzed about whether it will be difficult to replace Mbeumo.

He added: "Yes but it was also hard to replace Ivan [Toney]. We normally find a way. That's football and it happens sometimes. We will find a solution. There are other players who can step up."

After his Nottingham Forest side were beaten 5-0 at Fulham on Wednesday, Steve Cooper reacted to rumours that he is fighting for his job.

He said: "I don't think like that, that's not a good way to think. It's like saying to a player 'You'll have to do well in your next game or you won't play again for the club'.

"It's just not a thought process I believe in using. Of course, we are disappointed with the results and particularly the one last night and the performances.

"But more than ever you have got to show belief and character in what you want to be and what you stand for and what the football club and supporters want to see as well.

"That is my thought more than ever. Of course, there is going to be a lot questions, stories and whatever else said and rightly so."

Defeat at Craven Cottage leaves Forest in 16th place in the Premier League table after their fourth successive loss.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has stated Luca Koleosho will be out for several months with a knee injury picked up in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Wolves.

The 19-year-old was substituted in the 36th minute of the loss, which left the Clarets in 19th place in the Premier League.

Kompany said: "It's bad news for us. Luca will be out for a while. We'll do everything we can that he can get back healthy and ready to go again.

"In a collision he did something to his knees. I'd like to think he'll play this season but it may be towards the end of the season.

"Past the fact that it's a blow for a young player, I still think it's for someone else to step up and wear the shirt in the way Luca has done.

"With him being young, in these moments, if you keep calm, you can get better and stronger. I have no doubt he'll come back stronger."
