There are eight matches taking place in the Premier League on Saturday as Manchester City aim to keep their title destiny in their own hands, while the three teams battling to avoid the drop are all in action.

Fulham vs Manchester City (12:30pm)

The Premier League title race is firmly in Manchester City's control and it is hard to envisage them losing that when they face Fulham this weekend.

They have reeled off six Premier League wins on the spin, scoring at least four goals in all but one of those contests.

Fulham have been a tough nut to crack on home soil at times this season but their recent form has been cause for concern. They have not won any of their last three matches and have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions.

Beyond a top-half finish, they do not have much left to play for in the Premier League and City should run out comfortable winners as they look to hunt down Arsenal in the title race.

Brentford have struggled on the road of late, winning just one of their last seven games and another tough away day beckons for Thomas Frank's side.

Everton are signing off their 2023-24 campaign in some style and would expect to finish at Goodison Park with a win over already relegated Sheffield United.

United have looked doomed for much of the season and taken far too many hidings.

All nine of Everton’s home wins this season have been to nil, including each of their last four, and while it is hard to imagine Everton giving anyone a hiding — their four wins since Christmas have been either by 1-0 or 2-0 scorelines — the Toffees have to be the bet.

Newcastle vs Brighton (3pm)

Eddie Howe's Newcastle have been banging in the goals of late and they will expect plenty more against Brighton

Brighton had conceded 11 goals in their previous four games before shutting out a weary Villa side last time out and they have lost all six of their away fixtures against teams in the top seven this term.

Those results include a 6-1 rout by Villa and a 3-2 loss at Chelsea so Newcastle's in-form forwards should relish a crack at the Brighton rearguard.

The Magpies are still missing several injured defenders but their attacking unit is in good shape, with strikers Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both scoring in last weekend's 4-1 win at Burnley.

Miguel Almiron, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes were among the substitutes at Turf Moor and Newcastle, who have scored 25 goals in eight home league matches in 2024, are a tempting bet to put at least three goals past their inconsistent visitors.

Tottenham vs Burnley (3pm)

Burnley cruised to the Championship title last season but they have found life much tougher in the Premier League and their fate could be sealed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where a high-scoring home win looks the most likely outcome.

Fourteen of Burnley’s 24 points have come on their top-flight travels, including a 1-1 draw at Manchester United a fortnight ago. However, the Clarets have failed to defeat any of the top-half clubs and they look like ideal opponents for a Spurs side seeking to recover from their recent slump.

Tottenham completed a miserable eight days with last Sunday’s 4-2 loss away to Liverpool, but they have not lost to a bottom-six side all season and should bounce back with a comfortable victory.

West Ham vs Luton (3pm)

Jarrod Bowen has netted four goals in his last five home matches in the Premier League and also scored in the reverse fixture between these two sides at Kenilworth Road.

David Moyes was the manager who gave the former Hull forward his Premier League debut and Bowen will be looking to return the favour by netting in the Scot’s final home match as West Ham boss to help give the veteran gaffer a perfect send-off.

Given Luton have shipped 24 goals in their eight-match winless run on the road, it seems likely the Hammers’ top scorer will get plenty of opportunities against the Hatters and he should be backed to net in east London.

Wolves vs Crystal Palace (3pm)

Given Crystal Palace have put together a five-match unbeaten run in which they have taken 13 points and beaten a quartet of top-half sides in Liverpool, Newcastle, West Ham and Manchester United, it is difficult to envisage Wolves getting anything from this clash.

Palace have won five of the last six meetings between the pair and given Wolves have gone 11 games without a clean sheet, it is hard to see the hosts containing a brilliant front three of Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta — who has five goals in his last four appearances — for very long.

Oliver Glasner’s brilliance at Crystal Palace has only just begun and it seems a smart play to back the Austrian to mastermind another win this weekend.

Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea (5.30pm)

Nottingham Forest are on the brink of survival after last week's 3-1 win over last-placed Sheffield United, but they had taken only one point from their previous four matches and have mainly benefited from their relegation rivals Luton and Burnley failing to muster much of a challenge.

Chelsea have lost only one of their last 12 games in the league and while they have just five away wins this season, they managed a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa in their last road game and should find this an easier challenge.

Chelsea have scored nine goals in their last three games and with star signing Cole Palmer in fantastic form they should cause plenty of problems for a Forest team who have conceded 10 goals in their last five matches.
