The Merseyside derby kicks off a list of mouthwatering fixtures as the Premier League returns this weekend.

Chelsea host Arsenal in the other blockbuster clash of Matchday 9 and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can claw back some points on their London rivals.

We have all the key stats covered for all 10 matches below.

Liverpool vs Everton (Saturday 12.30pm, TNT Sports)

Liverpool welcome Everton having lost just once in the last 25 meetings against their neighbours.

The Merseyside derby has recorded the most draws in Premier League history (69) but is also capable of throwing up fireworks as it holds the record for red cards too (22).

Mohamed Salah has been in electrifying form for the hosts — with 27 goal contributions in his last 23 league appearances (16 goals, 11 assists) — and will be hoping to condemn Everton to defeat in front of an expectant Anfield crowd.

Bournemouth vs Wolves (Saturday, 3pm)

Bournemouth are one of two sides still looking to pick up their first league win but face a confident Wolves team who are unbeaten in their last three.

Gary O'Neil will be determined to get one over on his old stomping ground but the Midlands club may require a bit of magic to overcome their torrid away form.

No team has scored fewer goals than the Cherries' five this term and South Korea star Hwang Hee-Chan has as many strikes for the away side.

Brentford vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

Burnley will fancy their chances against a Brentford side who have dropped 11 points from winning positions already in 2023-24.

The Clarets have conceded 20 goals themselves this season but have already navigated through a tough run in the top flight.

A second win for either side would be a welcome sight as the relegation battle starts to take shape but goals have been hard to come by for the visitors — only Bournemouth have scored fewer than Vincent Kompany's men.

Manchester City vs Brighton (Saturday, 3pm)

Manchester City have never lost three league games in a row under Pep Guardiola but the Spaniard is at risk of losing that record when Brighton visit the Etihad.

The Seagulls are yet to win away in the league at City but they do come into the clash as the Premier League's top scorers with 21 goals.

City will be out to end their torrid run and will be hoping that Erling Haaland can find his shooting boots — the Norwegian could go three games without scoring for the first time since arriving in the Premier League.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm)

Newcastle will be rallying the troops at St James' Park as they seek to break down Crystal Palace's stubborn defence on Saturday.

No team has kept more than the Eagles' four clean sheets this term and the South Londoners will arrive on Tyneside hoping to leapfrog the Champions League challengers in the table.

The Magpies will be relying on their formidable home form to extend their unbeaten run against Palace to five games, although goals may be hard to come by with each of the last three meetings ending 0-0.

Nottingham Forest vs Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

Nottingham Forest and Luton have history from their time together in the Championship and it is the Hatters who have enjoyed more success in recent years.

Rob Edwards' side are unbeaten in their last four league meetings with the Tricky Trees but they travel to the Midlands knowing that Forest have lost just two of their last 18 Premier League home games.

Alfie Doughty has been catching the eye for promoted Luton and no player has created more chances from set plays than the 23-year-old.

Chelsea vs Arsenal (Saturday 5.30pm, Sky Sports)

Arsenal are gunning for glory in 2023-24 and a win at Chelsea could put them top of the table ahead of Tottenham's game on Monday.

The Blues have lost five of their last six Premier League matches against their London rivals but Mauricio Pochettino has never suffered defeat at home to the Gunners.

Kai Havertz will return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since leaving in the summer and will have his sights set on becoming the 28th different player to score against Chelsea having previously played for them.

Sheffield United vs Manchester United (Saturday 8pm, Sky Sports)

Saturday's action will conclude at Bramall Lane where Manchester United will be desperate to build on their dramatic win against Brentford before the international break.

The Red Devils have never failed to score against the Blades in the top flight and they hold a formidable record against promoted sides — winning each of their last nine.

Bruno Fernandes has already attempted 25 strikes on goal this season and he will fancy his chances against a team who have already faced 176 shots in the opening eight games.

Aston Villa vs West Ham (Sunday, 4.30pm, Sky Sports)

Sunday's solo fixture pits two in-form outfits against each other as West Ham take on Aston Villa in the Midlands.

The Hammers are unbeaten in their last 10 clashes with the Villans but Unai Emery has led his side to 10 consecutive home wins in the top flight.

Jarrod Bowen will return to the squad having picked up some minutes for England during the international break and the 26-year-old is poised to add to the four goals he has scored away from home so far this term.

Tottenham vs Fulham (Monday, 8pm, Sky Sports)

Tottenham spent the break at the summit as life under Ange Postecoglou continues to deliver a feel-good factor in North London.

Spurs have enjoyed their best-ever start to a Premier League campaign and with 13 wins in their last 15 against Fulham, fans will be hoping that they can extend their unbeaten run.

The Cottagers handed Postecoglou his first competitive defeat in a Carabao Cup clash a few months ago but they will not be able to rely on a penalty shootout when they visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
