Premier League Matchday 5 sees Arsenal bid to end their Goodison Park hoodoo against Everton.

Champions Manchester City travel to in-form West Ham on Saturday and Manchester United host Brighton, while Chelsea aim for a first away win of the season against Bournemouth a day later.

We run through the key stats ahead of the Premier League's return.

Wolves vs Liverpool (Saturday, 12.30pm, TNT Sports)

Liverpool will be out for revenge when they make the trip to Wolves after losing 3-0 at Molineux last season.

That defeat was an exception for the Reds, though, who have won 12 of their last 13 games against the Wanderers.

And Jurgen Klopp's side are currently on the Premier League's longest unbeaten run of 15 matches, although they failed to win a single 12.30pm Saturday kick-off in 2022-23 — losing three and drawing three.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm)

Aston Villa are looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat at Liverpool before the international break when they host Crystal Palace.

Unai Emery's side beat the South Londoners 1-0 at Villa Park last season thanks to an own goal from Joachim Andersen.

But Palace won the reverse fixture 3-1 and possess one of the Premier League's form players in Eberechi Eze, who has completed a division-high 13 dribbles this term.

Fulham vs Luton (Saturday, 3pm)

Fulham and Luton meet in the top flight for the first time since 1959-60.

The Cottagers are on a poor Premier League home run with just two wins from their last eight and they have not kept a clean sheet in any of those fixtures, conceding 16 goals.

Newly-promoted Luton will be desperate to add to Fulham's recent woes at Craven Cottage and avoid becoming only the second team to lose their first four Premier League matches in a season after Swindon in 1993-94.

Manchester United vs Brighton (Saturday, 3pm)

Brighton are aiming to make it four consecutive league wins against Manchester United on their latest trip to Old Trafford.

The Seagulls won this fixture 2-1 on the opening weekend of last season and go into Saturday's encounter on the back of an impressive 3-1 victory over Newcastle.

United have already lost two matches this term but have won eight in a row at home, their longest run since 2013 under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Tottenham vs Sheffield United (Saturday, 3pm)

Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham have started the season like a runaway train, winning three out of four matches and scoring two or more goals in each of their fixtures.

In contrast, Sheffield United are yet to claim three points after returning to the Premier League and have won just once in their last nine trips to Spurs, with the last victory coming in November 1991.

The North Londoners did the double over the Blades in 2020-21 and have amassed seven wins from the last eight matches against newly-promoted sides.

West Ham vs Manchester City (Saturday, 3pm)

West Ham are winless in their last 15 Premier League matches against Manchester City since a 2-1 victory at the Etihad in September 2015.

Pep Guardiola's side are unbeaten in eight away games against the Hammers, netting 24 goals in total during those visits and conceding only six.

The division's top scorer Erling Haaland will also be eager to add to his tally of six top-flight strikes this term after bagging a brace at the London Stadium last season.

Newcastle vs Brentford (Saturday, 5.30pm, Sky Sports)

Newcastle need a home win against Brentford to help soothe the pain of losing three of their first four matches.

Eddie Howe's side have an impressive record against Saturday's opponent, mustering seven wins from the last eight league meetings in a run that stretches back to 1992.

But the Bees have only been defeated once in 11 matches and will fancy their chances against a Newcastle defence which has kept just two clean sheets in 22 attempts.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea (Sunday, 2pm, Sky Sports)

Bournemouth and Chelsea are two teams in desperate need of a victory.

The Cherries are winless in eight Premier League games, while Mauricio Pochettino's Blues have collected just two wins from their previous 16 (five draws, nine defeats).

One of the Blues' two triumphs came at the Vitality Stadium in May, when late goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix gifted Frank Lampard his only win as interim manager.

Everton vs Arsenal (Sunday, 4.30pm, Sky Sports)

Arsenal's struggles at Goodison Park continued last season when they were beaten 1-0 in Sean Dyche's first game in charge.

The Gunners have not beaten Everton away from home in their last five attempts, losing the last three in a row.

But the Toffees have lost both of their home fixtures this season 1-0 and come up against an Arsenal side who have kept the most away clean sheets since the start of 2022-23 (11).

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley (Monday, 8pm, Sky Sports)

The action finishes on Monday evening when Nottingham Forest and Burnley go head-to-head in the top flight for the first time since February 1971.

However, the pair met in the first round of the EFL Cup on August 30, with the Clarets winning 1-0 at the City Ground thanks to a late strike from summer signing Zeki Amdouni.

Vincent Kompany's side are winless in the league this season, though, while Forest have tallied two victories from their opening four matches — including a 1-0 triumph at Chelsea before the international break.
