The 2023-24 Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 11, when Vincent Kompany's promoted Burnley take on champions Manchester City.

Ahead of what is sure to be another memorable campaign, we run through some of the key dates to look out for.

Treble winners back in action

City's historic Treble-winning season last term means they will be the team to beat once again.

Pep Guardiola's side kick off their title defence at the Clarets — who are led by the Citizens' legendary former captain Kompany — in an 8pm kick-off.

Last season's runners-up Arsenal start at home to Nottingham Forest a day later on Saturday, August 12, at 12.30pm.

New boys ready to roll

Burnley join Sheffield United in returning to the big time, while Luton will embark on their first season in the Premier League after a thrilling Championship play-off triumph last month.

The Hatters face a trip to Brighton on Matchday 1, with the Blades hosting Crystal Palace.

Collision course

Arsenal will hope to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title once again

Arsenal ran City mightily close in last season's title race before fading away in the final weeks.

Mikel Arteta's men will hope to present a similar challenge to the Citizens in 2023-24 and face them on Saturday, October 7, before the pair meet again on Saturday, March 30.

Manchester derby

One of the big clashes to be circled in the calendar when fixtures are released, the first Manchester derby of the season will take place on Saturday, October 28.

The return meeting will then play out on Saturday, March 2.

Fierce rivals

Arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester United, who may both fancy themselves for a surprise title challenge, collide on Saturday, December 16.

The North West foes then meet again on Saturday, April 6, as the season edges closer to its climax.

North London derby

Ange Postecoglou will experience his first taste of the North London derby when Tottenham take on Arsenal on Saturday, September 23, with the old rivals facing off again on Saturday, April 27.

The Gunners did the double over their neighbours last term but Spurs will hope to put up more of a challenge under their Australian boss.

Merseyside showdown

The Merseyside derby remains a Premier League fixture thanks to Everton's dramatic survival on the final day of last term.

The Toffees visit Anfield to take on the Reds on Saturday, October 21, before facing off at Goodison Park on Saturday, March 16.
