Every Premier League club's Player of the Season award winner

The curtain has fallen on another thrilling Premier League campaign full of twists and turns.

We round up every top-flight club’s Player of the Season.

Arsenal — Bukayo Saka

Bouncing back from his penalty miss in the Euro 2020 final shootout, Bukayo Saka enjoyed another fantastic season at Arsenal, registering 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions.

He became the first player to win the award in consecutive seasons for the Gunners since Thierry Henry and is not yet the finished product, still aged just 20.

Aston Villa — Matty Cash

Matty Cash was the only player to have started all of Aston Villa’s Premier League games last season and chipped in with four goals and three assists from right-back.

The Polish international, 24, consistently displayed his defensive intelligence as well as ability going forward and was a key player in Steven Gerrard's system.

Brentford — Christian Norgaard

Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard scooped the accolade after a string of impressive performances in Brentford's maiden Premier League season.

The 28-year-old provided four assists and scored three times, including home and away efforts against Arsenal.

Brighton — Marc Cucurella

Marc Cucurella enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign in the Premier League that has attracted interest from many top clubs.

The Spaniard scooped a double at Brighton’s awards night, also picking up the Players’ Player of the Season prize.

Cucurella, 23, uses his technical ability to make an impact on the left flank and is certainly one to watch as he continues his development as an exciting, offensive wing-back.

The Barcelona academy graduate said: "I'm very happy and thank you to my team-mates, the gaffer, coaches and of course the fans for your support. 

"You have all made it very easy for me and my family to adapt to a new country and I have enjoyed this season so much."

Burnley

Chelsea — Mason Mount

Mason Mount scooped Chelsea's award for the second season running to cap another impressive individual campaign.

The 23-year-old England midfielder, who got the nod ahead of Thiago Silva, said: "It obviously means so much knowing the fans have voted for this.

"It's a pleasure to play in front of them every single week. It's been a dream of mine since I was six. If someone had told me I'd win it twice in only three seasons, I wouldn't have believed them. 

"It's brilliant and an absolute honour to play with these lads. We can see how tough this season has been and yet we still feel we could have got more out of it."

Crystal Palace — Conor Gallagher

Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher has impressed at Crystal Palace, playing an instrumental part in Patrick Vieira’s maiden campaign.

The 22-year-old registered eight goals and three assists in the league with the club keen to secure his services on a permanent basis.

While picking up the award, the young Englishman said: "It’s massive. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart I can’t thank the fans enough. 

"You’ve been brilliant from the first day and I've loved every minute of playing for Crystal Palace."

Everton — Jordan Pickford

England No1 Jordan Pickford clinched the top award at Everton thanks to a series of match-winning performances for the Goodison Park club.

Boss Frank Lampard lavished praise on his 28-year-old stopper: "There have been some outstanding performances and efforts from everyone, but the outstanding player is Everton’s No1 and England’s No1.

"Jordan has made some ridiculous saves in recent weeks, he is a great lad and this is fully deserved."

Leeds

Leicester — James Maddison

James Maddison quietly produced great numbers despite Leicester enduring an underwhelming campaign.

After narrowly missing out on a Champions League spot by a point with a fifth-placed finish in 2021-22, the Foxes secured eighth on the final day this time around.

But Maddison, 25, played well and bagged 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, including finding the back of the net three times in the East Midlanders' Europa Conference League journey.

He said: "A positive season. Football is a team game and I’d swap the award in a heartbeat to be in a final at the end of the month in Europe, but that wasn’t to be, so I’ll take the award and again, a big thank you."

Liverpool — Mohamed Salah

Liverpool were once again indebted to the talents of Egyptian ace Mohamed Salah, who won the Premier League Golden Boot for a third time.

Salah scored 31 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions, helping the Reds to an FA Cup and Carabao Cup as well as a second-placed finish in the league and a spot in the Champions League final.

The 30-year-old reached the 30-goal mark for the third time in his Anfield career, becoming just the fourth player in the club's history to achieve the feat.

Manchester City — Kevin De Bruyne

Brilliant Belgian Kevin De Bruyne won the award for a record-equalling fourth time, thanks to another standout season with the Premier League champions.

A four-goal haul at Wolves showcased the 30-year-old at his very best, helping lead Pep Guardiola's men to a fourth league title in five years.

Manchester United — Cristiano Ronaldo

Despite Manchester United ending the season in sixth place, there can be no doubting that Cristiano Ronaldo showed his class with a number of remarkable goals for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese icon excelled on his return to Old Trafford, netting 18 strikes in total to go with three assists.

Newcastle — Joelinton

Forward turned central midfielder Joelinton reinvented himself at St James’ Park last season and was integral in Newcastle's turnaround alongside January signing Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian struggled to find the back of the net after joining the Magpies in 2019, only bagging six Premier League goals in his first two seasons.

His physical presence and work-rate has made him one of the first names on the team sheet for Eddie Howe, however.

After receiving his award, the 25-year-old said: "It has been a great season for me. Many things have happened, but I'm very happy to help the team stay in the Premier League. Hopefully next season will be even better."

Norwich — Teemu Pukki

Teemu Pukki's 11 strikes were not enough to keep Norwich in the Premier League.

But the striker could only think of his team's plight when handed the award.

He said: "It [relegation] hurt a lot. All of us want to be Premier League players. To go down is always a disappointment and it's been a hard season. 

"We were quite down when it happened but that's football."

Southampton — James Ward-Prowse

James Ward-Prowse landed the award for the second season running for the Saints, and also received a nomination for Premier League Player of the Season.

The Southampton talisman's lethal set-pieces have been exceptional and plenty of other clubs have taken notice, with a summer switch rumoured to be on the cards.

On his Saints performances, he said: "On a personal note, it is nice, but I am looking at the bigger picture with the team and the club, and I think it is an exciting time to be involved with the club with the new owners coming in."

Tottenham — Heung-Min Son

Heung-Min Son set the Premier League alight once again last season and ended up sharing the Golden Boot with Liverpool ace Salah.

Son, 29, bagged 23 goals and provided seven assists for Spurs — his best goal return in his seventh campaign in the top flight.

The South Korean played an integral part in his side finishing fourth, combining with Harry Kane to statistically become the deadliest pairing in Premier League history.

Upon receiving the award after Spurs beat Burnley in their final home game of the campaign, he said: "I'm the happiest guy in the world to play in this stadium. 

"Of course I dreamed, it's a dream come true. I worked hard to be here, to be part of Tottenham, playing in front of these amazing fans."

Watford — Hassane Kamara

Hassane Kamara put in some impressive performances after joining Watford in January but it was not enough to keep the Hornets up.

The left-back, who played in 19 of 20 games since his arrival, admitted: "It’s a contrast of emotions and a mixture of feelings.

"Personally, I got what I wanted with more game time and some good performances. But, on the other hand, we are going down and we have lost many consecutive games. 

"We are high-level players and we are here to perform and get results. So to go down is disturbing and problematic."

West Ham — Declan Rice

Declan Rice scooped the Hammer of the Year award following an impressive season on a personal level as well as for the club.

The midfielder, 23, has displayed brilliant ball-carrying and passing ability, combining well with the firing Jarrod Bowen to leave West Ham fans daring to dream of clinching European silverware.

The England international chipped in with five goals, with three of those coming on the continental stage.

The East Londoners reached the semi-finals of the Europa League but narrowly missed out on a return to the competition and will be in the Conference League next season.

Wolves — Jose Sa

Wolves stopper Jose Sa became an instant fans’ favourite in his debut season in the Premier League.

The Portuguese keeper racked up 11 clean sheets in the league, the joint-sixth most in the division and produced spectacular saves throughout.

Sa, 29, made the joint-fourth most stops of any goalkeeper, guiding the West Midlands club to a top-half finish during a campaign that saw them push for a European spot for the majority of it.
