PGMOL release audio of disallowed Diaz goal

The PGMOL have released the VAR audio of Luis Diaz's wrongly disallowed goal for Liverpool at Tottenham.

In the first half, the Reds forward was incorrectly flagged offside.

However, VAR official Darren England mistakenly believed the on-field decision had been to award the goal, resulting in him telling referee Simon Hooper that the check was complete.

In the audio, the VAR assistant can be heard saying, "that's wrong that, Daz", leading England to swear when he realises a mistake has been made.

A statement from the PGMOL accompanying the audio release read: "We recognise standards fell short of expectations and acknowledged the error to Liverpool immediately after the conclusion of the fixture. 

"A detailed report, including the key learnings and immediate actions taken, alongside the audio between the on-field officials and VAR team has been submitted to the Premier League, who have shared it with Liverpool and subsequently all other Premier League clubs."
