Rory McAllister claimed a decisive late double as Peterhead halted their three-match losing streak with a dramatic 3-1 win over cinch League Two promotion rivals Dumbarton.

McAllister equalised with just eight minutes remaining at Balmoor by slotting beyond Sons goalkeeper Jay Hogarth before winning and converting a 90th-minute penalty to complete the comeback – also hitting the crossbar in between.

Blue Toon substitute Jack Brown sealed a victory which lifted the high-flying hosts to second place after bursting through the visitors’ defence in added time to beat Rangers loanee Hogarth.

Dumbarton, who remain in fourth position, had led since the second minute thanks to Ryan Wallace’s fine strike from distance but slipped to a second successive defeat following the turnaround.
